Ball lightning appears when atmospheric charge, humidity, and pressure gradients combine with a transient energy input such as a lightning strike. Instead of dissipating, part of the energy collapses into a self-contained plasma structure. The key is coherence: magnetic self-confinement and phase locking prevent the plasma from exploding or fading instantly. This produces a luminous, floating sphere that can move slowly, pass through openings, and disappear without a blast—because energy is redistributed through phase change rather than released as heat.

Earth lights arise from similar physics but are driven primarily from below. In tectonically active regions, stress in quartz-rich rock generates strong electromagnetic emissions through piezoelectric and electrokinetic effects. When these emissions couple with atmospheric conditions above the ground, they can nucleate plasma orbs that hover, drift, or track terrain. Locations like Hessdalen show repeatability because the boundary conditions—conductivity, strain, moisture, and geomagnetic alignment—remain favorable.

Both phenomena exhibit traits that confuse classical explanations: stable shape without fuel, intelligent-looking motion without control surfaces, sudden appearance and disappearance, and minimal thermal damage. These traits are expected when matter is temporarily governed by field coherence instead of particle collisions. The motion follows field gradients, not inertia. The light comes from ionized air and excited plasma states, not combustion.

From a Frequency Wave Theory perspective, ball lightning and Earth lights conserve Frequency Momentum while shifting energy into a coherent standing-wave form.
